As part of initial implementation, Integrated Warehousing Solutions installed the IRMS Warehouse Management System at a single Breyers/Good Humor operations facility, including integration with their QAD solution and using Radio Frequency (RF) with wireless technology and equipment from Psion-Teklogix.
Integrated Warehousing Solutions, a leading provider of Supply Chain execution solutions, has been assisting Unilever with their stated mission to "add vitality to life" with the implementation of the IRMS Warehouse Management System for their Breyers/Good Humor Ice Cream Division. A multi-national conglomerate, Unilever "helps people look good, feel good and get more out of life" with a wide array of food and home and personal care products, including ice cream.
The largest manufacturer and marketer of branded packaged ice cream and frozen novelty products, Breyers/Good Humor is a $400 million dollar division of Unilever. Their products include all flavors of Breyers Ice Cream and Good Humor Ice Cream, as well as the original Klondike ice cream bars and the Popsicle brand among other frozen treats. The company is headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and employs 2,400 at their corporate offices as well as six manufacturing and distribution facilities across the United States.
As part of initial implementation, Integrated Warehousing Solutions installed the IRMS Warehouse Management System at a single Breyers/Good Humor operations facility, including integration with their QAD solution and using Radio Frequency (RF) with wireless technology and equipment from Psion-Teklogix. This pilot implementation is in a U.S. Food and Drug Administration-regulated, environmentally-controlled environment requiring the system to function twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week in extreme temperature conditions of -40° Fahrenheit.
With IRMS having been judged a success by Breyers/Good Humor, Integrated Warehousing Solutions is currently working with Ben & Jerry's, makers of Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chunky Monkey and other unique ice cream flavors, and a wholly-owned autonomous subsidiary of Unilever since 2000, to develop an integration model to interface the IRMS Warehouse Management System with SAP R/3 as their North American logistics operations solution. This comprises up to ten additional Unilever IRMS sites.
