Integrated Warehousing Solutions, a leading provider of Supply Chain execution solutions, has been supporting Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW) in their continued success 'winning the day with customers' with the multi-site, global implementation of the IRMS Warehouse Management System. A highly diversified company with more than 600 business units and operations in 44 countries, Illinois Tool Works not only produces and markets fasteners and components, but also a wide array of specialty systems and equipment used for everything from welding to industrial packaging.

Integrated Warehousing Solutions initially implemented the IRMS Warehouse Management System for Illinois Tool Works' Paslode Division, which designs and manufactures pneumatic and cordless tools, nailing and stapling systems for construction, remodeling and industrial applications. Long-time innovators, Paslode introduced the first pneumatic tool, a light-duty upholstery tacker, the first commercially-accepted pneumatic nail gun, and the first cordless power framing nailer, all contributing to increased efficiency and productivity in the construction industry.

Seeking to increase efficiency and productivity as well as visibility in their warehouses, Illinois Tool Works and Paslode selected Integrated Warehousing Solutions and the IRMS Warehouse Management System for implementation into six of their domestic, regional warehouse and distribution facilities. IRMS was implemented first as a pilot project in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and owing to its success expanded to an additional five U.S.-based facilities in just ten months with the entire effort coming in on time and under budget.

Paslode uses IRMS to facilitate inbound, outbound and inventory management in facilities totaling 300,000 square feet. The system manages 467 SKUs from 25-30 vendors, and processes an average of 13,500 multi-line orders per day, averaging 18,000 units per order. IRMS implementation for Paslode has included integration/interfacing with an Enterprise Host system, Material Handling systems (RFID-driven conveyors), a Shipping system, vendor communications through EDI, and a graphical reporting Business Intelligence system (COGNOS). Future plans include extending the benefits of IRMS to the company's Canadian and global operations.
