Integrated Warehousing Solutions, a leading provider of Supply Chain execution solutions, has been helping TruckPro keep trucks, semi-tractor trailers and school buses rolling coast to coast with the implementation of the IRMS Warehouse Management System in their Memphis Distribution Center. TruckPro, headquartered in nearby Cordova, Tennessee, supplies heavy duty truck parts through 54 retail and wholesale outlets, principally located in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States. They also offer shop services, including A/C service, brake and clutch repair, engine overhauls, frame and suspension work, etc.

Integrated Warehousing Solutions implemented the IRMS Warehouse Management System at TruckPro's Memphis Distribution Center comprised of floor stack bulk storage, pallet racking, and bin shelving with a conveyor-based picking system as well as sortation and shipping systems. Requirements included integration/ interfacing of IRMS into two internally-developed, highly modified and disparate systems, including a Host system, from which all orders to the Distribution Center are generated.

Totaling 325,000 square feet in size, the TruckPro facility houses approximately 17,000 active SKUs, including engine parts, electrical components, filters, brake shoes and drums, wheel end products, bearings and seals, etc. This fulfillment operation is supported by 65 IRMS users, including 55 radio frequency (RF) operators. With the new system automating their inventory operations - receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping - TruckPro expects to offer more services and improve operational efficiency with total control over product movement and detailed, timely reporting of all warehouse activities.

Benefits seen include increased inventory accuracy and efficiency, maximized utilization of manpower, and reduction of paperwork. IRMS at TruckPro has additionally eliminated excessive paper processes and provides alternate and superceded part numbers as well as an unlimited number of storage locations per SKU. Overall TruckPro's ultimate goal is to improve customer service with a real-time view of their operations and increased velocity throughput, allowing the company to react even faster to their customers' ever-changing requirements. With their dedicated and professional staff now supported by IRMS, they are well on their way.
