Since implementing IRMS, Ware-Pak has grown their client base from about ten to eight-five and expanded into the global marketplace. With the system, they ship 90% of customer orders in the same day with 98% shipping in no more than 24 hours, and also process 3 million returns annually - all the while maintaining near perfect inventory accuracy.
Integrated Warehousing Solutions, a leading provider of Supply Chain execution solutions, has been helping Ware-Pak's publishing industry customers with the implementation of the IRMS Warehouse Management System. Founded as a book fulfillment business some forty years ago, family-owned Ware-Pak provides third-party warehousing book and CD mail order and e-commerce order fulfillment, and catalogue and book distribution services. Clients includes Big Box retailers and e-commerce powerhouses, such as Barnes & Noble, as well as textbook publishers and individuals.
Integrated Warehousing Solutions implemented the IRMS Warehouse Management System in Ware-Pak's Midwestern distribution center, comprised of 170,000 square feet and housing approximately 5,000 SKUs, including books, textbooks, encyclopedias, pamphlets, CDs, software, etc. Implementation was done in replacement of a largely manual legacy system and included RF and bar coding as well as integration with the company's front-end Call Center, back end EDI and Aristo Shipping systems.
Since implementing IRMS, high-volume rapid-turnaround Ware-Pak has grown their client base from about ten to eight-five and expanded into the global economy with more than half of their printed materials now coming from overseas. Additionally, IRMS enables Ware-Pak to provide clients with immediate visibility to their inventory via the Internet, forecast inventory needs with usage and stock on-hand reporting, process some 3 million returns annually, and ship 90% of customer orders in the same day with 98% shipping in no more than 24 hours - all the while maintaining near perfect inventory accuracy.
