Progress Honors ISV with PAC Seats |
 |
Downers Grove, IL -- March 12, 2002 -- Integrated Warehousing Solutions, exclusive worldwide provider of the IRMS supply chain solution, announced today it will accept two seats on the Progress Product Advisory Council (PAC). The Progress Company, an operating unit of Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS - News) and a global supplier of software technology for business solutions, maintains the PAC so that strategic developers and customers can provide valuable input for Progress product direction. Progress extended the invitation in recognition of IWS' dominant role in the North American marketplace in 2001.
"IWS has been an engine of revenue growth and business success during an economic period and in a crowded marketplace that would send most ordinary companies running," said Jeff Ray, Vice President of Worldwide Operations for Progress. "The company's success in this challenging market exemplifies the benefits that can be gained from the Progress OpenEdge platform, and we expect IWS will offer great value as a member of our Product Advisory Council. The PAC plays a strategic role in our product development plans, and reflects the value Progress places on its most visionary customers."
IWS will accept two seats on the Product Advisory Council. The Progress PAC is empowered to plot the future course of Progress' elite collection of foundation technologies, including the flagship OpenEdge platform and the Progress RDBMS, the world's number one embedded database.
"This leadership collaboration will ensure that all Progress and IWS clients will benefit from continued Future Proof business solutions," said Ken Dorsey, IWS CTO. "No client should ever face a technological barrier to success, and Progress shares our commitment to this belief."
The Progress Company's partners include more than 2,000 independent software vendors (ISVs) and application service providers (ASPs) who supply annually over $5 billion in Progress-based applications and related services. But only a few of these ISVs are offered seats on the PAC.
"Progress understands that some companies are here for one reason - to provide the most flexible, unobtrusive, valuable, feature-useful solutions in the world," said Carl Brewer, President of IWS. "And we get it."
