The Right Stuff: IRMS Warehouse Management System Simplicity, Flexibility Supports Sudden, Marked Increase in Business for Dart Warehouse

Downers Grove, IL -- August 4, 2005 -- When a leading 3PL provider announced their impending demise with little more than a day's notice to their customers, rival Dart Warehouse, thanks in large part to the flexibility available to them through the IRMS Warehouse Management System, quickly stepped in, helping dozens of small- and medium-sized merchants save their businesses.

Victim of a volatile marketplace and their own success, this third-party fulfillment center, which once grew over 400% in a five-month period, succumbed in recent days to "under-capitalization." That is, the company didn't have enough capital to support such meteoric growth. Nonetheless dedicated to their clients until the end, they recommended a number of competing firms, including Dart Warehouse.

Illinois-based Dart Warehouse stepped up, along with a handful of other 3PLs, working quickly to procure trailers, equipment and supplies to help the firm's customers move their inventory from the failed facilities, and also hired a number of former employees to smooth the transition.

Unlike the other guys, however, Dart found they had the tools in place with the IRMS Warehouse Management System to transition initially fifty, and ultimately up to sixty-five, customers in just five to ten days.

"Dart's high level of support through the IRMS system gave us a strong reputation," said Herb Duggan, General Manager of Dart Warehouse. "And an opportunity to help these companies."

With IRMS systems integration and common use of existing online integration services, Dart Warehouse had ready-made interfaces in place for their new customers. IRMS' configuration tools provided Dart with yet another value added advantage, enabling them to setup for the new accounts quickly and easily. After little more than loading the Master files, they were good to go.

Additionally, IRMS' end-user, shipping documentation and custom labeling also enabled Dart to give each new client that personal touch with the desired labeling and individualized printing, multiple label sizes, UCC-128, custom bitmap labeling, etc. -- and features, such as manufacturer-specific labels, point-of-origin labeling and gift labeling.

With all-about-the-customer Dart Warehouse and the robust-yet-flexible IRMS Warehouse Management System, up to sixty-five new clients, as diverse as Gourmet Magic -- offering gourmet food, cookbooks and gifts -- and the Strokeland Records & Tower of Power Online Store have gone from sudden chaos to finding a world of simplicity in their supply chains.

IRMS: Demand-driven Supply Chain... made easy. And fast!
