Downers Grove, IL -- August 4, 2005 -- When a leading 3PL provider announced their impending demise with little more than a day's notice to their customers, rival Dart Warehouse, thanks in large part to the flexibility available to them through the IRMS Warehouse Management System, quickly stepped in, helping dozens of small- and medium-sized merchants save their businesses.
Victim of a volatile marketplace and their own success, this third-party fulfillment center, which once grew over 400% in a five-month period, succumbed in recent days to "under-capitalization." Illinois-based Dart Warehouse stepped up, along with a handful of other 3PLs, working quickly to procure trailers, equipment and supplies to help the firm's customers move their inventory from the failed facilities, and also hired a number of former employees to smooth the transition.
