Once orders are selected and sorted from the IRMS Order Manager, they are released for picking as waves, which represent the work to be done during the Picking process. From the Order Manager, the system also supports assigning employees to orders or waves for picking, as well as printing pick tickets, and viewing line item order detail and activity.

Each wave may be comprised of many orders. Or just one. An individual picker may perform the work for a wave, as in the case of special handling or hazardous orders which may require additional employee training. Or a whole group of pickers may pick a wave simultaneously.
As waves are picked, progress can be monitored via the IRMS Order Status screen, showing in minute detail what's open, in pick, picked, packed and shipped in given timeframes (in the last hour, in the last four hours, today, etc.) with capability to drill-down into individual orders to highlight the outstanding work, thereby isolating any problems and expediting resolution.
